Version 3.3

Release 3.3.0

Available from November 14th, 2024

Changelog

Tenant Management

  • With the new release, we have centralized all tenant-relevant settings under the “Manage Tenant” menu option.
  • Applications can now only be created and managed via the Tenant options. Ever application must have an application owner assigned, to have a single point of contact.
  • The AppNavi portal is now completely modular, which makes it easier to use. The portal now consists of the three module areas “Guidance”, “Discovery” and “Insights”. Depending on the activated license, the modules and the assigned applications become visible.
  • A guidance contract is no longer required to carry out business capability surveys or to use other steering activities. These features can be used directly with a Discovery Contract.

Insights

  • We have renamed Appnavi User Behavior Mining to AppNavi Insights. This name does justice to the power of this feature.
  • The Insights configuration options have been greatly expanded. In addition, the visualization in the AppNavi avatar (Insights debug mode) has been improved.
  • A subdivision into evaluation by pages and areas simplifies the mapping of different use cases.
  • Overall, we have greatly improved the export for Insights options. More different views can now be exported as Excel.
  • The AppNavi Intent Model uses visualized text to help illustrate the use cases within an application.
  • Using the AppNavi Insights API functions, it is possible to send your own user-defined events to the AppNavi event service and evaluate them.
  • Using the AppNavi Insights Reporting feature, it is possible to create customized reports. Thanks to the innovative configuration interface, reports can be configured simply by drag and drop.
  • The AppNavi Insights Journey View visualizes movement patterns of users within an application. Thanks to the numerous filter options, it is possible to evaluate behavior according to different countries or time periods, for example.
  • We have retrained all AppNavi Recognizers to further increase the data security of recorded data.

Discovery

  • Our new AppNavi SaaS catalog contains more than 25,000 known SaaS applications and is constantly being updated by the product team. Identified applications are thus enriched directly with the correct metadata.
  • The AppNavi SaaS catalog has also been expanded to include various compliance information (e.g. does a manufacturer have the necessary certifications?). This information can then be used in the AppNavi Risk Cockpit to quickly and easily identify application risks.
  • The new AppNavi blacklist includes many standard applications that are not of interest for discovery and are automatically filtered out. This blacklist is constantly being developed by our product team and can be updated in the tenant at any time.
  • The AppGraph analysis shows which applications are used in certain countries or by certain user groups.
  • We now record additional usage metrics such as copy/paste events in Discovery.
  • Business capabilities can now be assigned to an application in different ways. This can be done either via preconfigured capabilities in the catalog. These business capabilities can be changed in the application at any time. In addition, business capabilities can be determined via surveys. Thanks to an innovative model, business capabilities can also be identified based on the wording used in the application.
  • We have significantly simplified the evaluation and export options within Discovery. It is also possible to choose from a predefined time period for each report or to define a time period.
  • The handling of application archiving has been simplified. Archived applications can be restored at any time. User metrics are no longer recorded for archived applications.

Chat GPT Assistant

  • We have created a way to integrate Chat GPT Assistants easily and directly into any application using AppNavi.
  • This feature allows users to chat with any configured Chat GPT Assistant model directly in the application by the use of AppNavi Avatar.

Architecture & Security

  • We have completely revised the architecture of our avatar and removed outdated libraries. This has enabled us to significantly improve the loading and execution time.
  • We have revised the compression at various points to reduce the network traffic to a necessary minimum.
  • We have implemented additional caching mechanisms according to current technology standards to further reduce traffic. These include request invalidations, for example. Using this technology, files are only retrieved from the server if they have actually changed or after a set time interval.
  • Avatat authentication is no longer performed directly against Cognito but against an AppNavi middleware. This means that it is no longer necessary to whitelist the generic AWS-Cognito domain during integration.
  • We have implemented a new file encryption for all customer-specific Tenant content. This encryption will be activated successively for the tenants.
  • Using AppNavi App Origin Security, it is possible to specify the domains to which AppNavi content can be delivered for each application.

Other

  • As announced, they have removed the classic label function for announcements. If announcements are to be displayed for a specific target group, this is now only possible via Target Audiences. Furthermore we have significantly improved usability for target audiences. Managing and testing target audiences is now much easier.
  • With Connected Routes, it is now possible to define the display sequence using drag and drop.
  • We have introduced a new steering activity for general surveys. This Steering Activity can be used with both Guidance and Discovery contracts.
