Insights Demo Data Import

Overview

Insights Demo Data allows you to explore AppNavi analytics using a preconfigured sample application called Cendara.

The demo includes sample user activity and analytics, so you can explore Insights dashboards, reports, journeys, surveys, and data protection features without configuring tracking in your own application.

Prerequisites

Before importing the demo data, make sure:

You have access to an AppNavi Partner Tenant.
You can access the Insights section in the Portal.

Step 1: Import the demo data

Open the Insights tab in the AppNavi Portal.
Open the context menu.
Select Import Demo Data.
A confirmation dialog will appear.
Enter the confirmation text requested in the dialog.
Confirm the import.

AppNavi will start creating the demo application. Wait until the import is completed and the status banner is updated.

Step 2: Verify the import

After the import is complete:

Open the Insights tab.
Locate the newly created Cendara application.
Open the application and check that its analytics data is available.
Explore the available dashboards and reports.

The Cendara application includes an active Insights license, preconfigured tracking settings, and sample events.

Important: The demo application's settings are available in read-only mode. You can explore the configuration but cannot edit it.

Step 3: Explore the demo analytics

The Cendara application contains several preconfigured Insights views.

Section	What you can explore
Overview	Users, recurring users, sessions, activity trends, country distribution, weekly usage, search intent, copy/paste activity, and recorded events.
Pages	Page visits, slow pages, page load time, time spent, interacting users, and frequently used elements.
Areas	Area occurrences, clicks, copy/paste activity, users, activity time, and frequently used elements.
Journey	User navigation between URLs using different filters.
Ask	Ask questions about the demo analytics using the AI assistant or try predefined questions.
Reports	Explore predefined reports, create custom reports, and use Advanced Mode to write SQL queries.
Surveys	Review survey views, responses, response rates, scores, user distribution, and suggested improvements.
Data Protection	Explore data recognizer occurrences and their details.

Step 4: Understand the analytics

Use these examples to understand what the metrics tell you:

Users: Shows how many users are represented in the selected analytics period.
Recurring Users: Shows users who return to the application.
Sessions: Shows recorded user sessions.
Page Load Time: Helps identify pages that take longer to load.
Time Spent: Shows the recorded time users spend on a page or area.
Area Activity: Helps identify which application sections receive more interactions.
Journey: Shows how users navigate between application pages.
Survey Response Rate: Helps you understand how many users responded to the displayed surveys.

For example, if a page has many visitors but a high load time, it may be worth investigating its performance. If an area receives very few interactions, review whether users are finding or using that functionality.

Note: These are sample analytics from the Cendara demo application. They do not represent activity in your own application.

Step 5: Validate and explore

After importing the demo data, confirm that:

The Cendara application appears in the Insights application list.
The Overview dashboard displays sample analytics.
Pages and Areas contain sample usage information.
Journey displays navigation data.
Reports and Surveys contain predefined examples.
Data Protection displays sample recognizer occurrences.
Application settings are accessible in read-only mode.

If a section does not display the expected information, first confirm that the import has completed successfully.

Privacy and data considerations

The Cendara application is a demo environment containing sample analytics data. Use it to understand how Insights works and how different metrics are presented.

Do not interpret demo records as actual customer or employee activity. For information about data collected when Insights is enabled in a real application, review the Insights Data Collection documentation.
