BC Survey
A Business Capability (BC) Survey gathers insights from users about how they use a software application. Its objective is to identify which business capabilities the software supports, based on user input. The survey is presented directly within the application, and users select the capabilities they use.
Survey duration and completion
• The minimum duration of a survey is one day.
• The maximum duration depends on your requirements.
• A survey is complete once the defined survey period has ended and the intended goal has been achieved.
Browser support

Prerequisites
• The application must be created in the AppNavi Portal and have an active Discovery Contract. Only such applications can be mapped.
• Users must access the application through a supported browser.
• Business Capabilities must be enabled in Discovery Settings.
To configure a Business Capability (BC) Survey, follow the steps below:
- Open Discovery Settings and select the Settings tab.
- In the Business Capabilities section, turn on Enable Business Capability Surveys.
- Optionally set Expected Votes, the number of votes needed before a BC Suggestion.
- Select Save.

- Open the context menu (three-dot icon) of the application and select Edit.
- On the Basic tab, select the AppNavi application in the AppNavi Application dropdown.
- Select Save.
**Note:**Only applications created in the Portal with an active Discovery Contract appear in the dropdown.

Open the BC Survey page
After the application is mapped, a BC Survey option appears in its context menu in Discovered Apps. Select BC Survey to open the BC Survey page.

Add a new survey
The BC Survey page lists existing surveys for the application with ID, Title, Target Audience, Start Date, Valid Until and Status (for example Running). To create a survey, open the Actions menu (three-dot icon, top right) and select Add.

Enter survey details (General)
The Add New BC Survey dialog opens. Complete the General section:

Select the business capability (Survey)
In the Survey section, select one Business Capability L1 category. This determines the survey content: all subcategories of the selected category are presented to users in the survey.
According to the in-app note, you can also specify how many users to survey before the survey is closed, whether results are transferred automatically to the discovered application, and how many users must engage for that to happen.

You can add several languages to the same survey. Use the language buttons in Live Preview (for example English and German) to switch between them, and New Language to add another.

Create the survey
Select Create. The survey is created and will be shown in the mapped AppNavi application during the date range. You can return to it at any time from the BC Survey option in the application’s context menu.

In Discovery Settings, the Expected Votes field defines the minimum number of votes required before a business capability is suggested. For example, with Expected Votes set to 3, a capability needs at least 3 votes.

Where suggestions appear
When the votes for a business capability meet or exceed the threshold, a BC Suggestion appears automatically for the discovered application. In Discovered Apps, the Business Capabilities column shows a badge such as "1 Suggestion". Suggestions reflect the capabilities most frequently selected by users, so only capabilities with enough user validation are recommended.

Review and accept a suggestion
- Open the application’s context menu and select Edit.
- Go to the Business Capability tab.
- Under Business Capabilities suggestions, select the suggestion to set it as a business capability for the application.
- Select Save.

Survey Analytics
The Survey Analytics dashboard shows user participation and voting behavior, so you can evaluate how effective the survey was and what it found.
Opening Survey Analytics
- You open Survey Analytics from the BC Survey list of the discovered application.
- Open the BC Survey page from the application's context menu in Discovered Apps.
- In the survey list, open the context menu (three-dot icon) of the survey you want to review.

Analytics Overview
The analytics page consists of the following key metrics:

| Interactions | Total number of times the survey was shown to users. | |
| Users | Number of distinct users who viewed the survey. | |
| Votes | Total number of votes submitted. If one user votes several times, each vote is counted. |
Charts and table
• Votes (line chart): Daily Votes shows votes submitted each day; Accumulated Votes shows the running total up to each day.
• Top Votes (bar chart): the business capabilities selected most often.
• Voted Business Capabilities (table): each capability that received votes, shown by L2 and L3 level, with its vote count.

Filters and Search
• Discovered Apps: filter by Countries, Organizational Units and Departments, and search by application to find the app to survey.
• BC Survey list: search surveys by title or other details.
• Voted Business Capabilities table: search and filter the L2 and L3 columns.
