Application Assignment

Application assignment connects an application to a contract so that the application can use the features and services included in that contract.

A contract defines the available modules, number of applications, usage limits, contract type, and contract period.

NOTE: Only a Tenant Owner can assign a Guidance, Insights and Discovery Contract to applications

Trial Contract

Customers can request a free trial for an application from the application's edit page.

Request a Trial

1. Create an application.
2. Open the application's Edit page.
3. Select Trial Request Version.
4. Enter the required information in the dialog.
5. Select Apply.

Once the request is accepted, the application can be used for 14 days.

The application displays an information message showing the remaining trial period. Customers can request an additional 14-day trial extension if required.

Assign a Contract to an Application

The same assignment process is used for Guidance, Insights, and Discovery contracts.

Before assigning a contract, make sure that:

• You are a Tenant Owner.
• The required contract has already been created for your tenant.
• The application you want to assign is available.
• The contract has available application capacity.

Assignment Steps

1. Open Manage Tenant

Go to Manage Tenant from the AppNavi navigation.

2. Open Contracts

Select Contracts to view the contracts available for your tenant.

3. Open the Contract

Find the contract you want to use and open its context menu.

Select the option to open the contract details.

4. Add Applications

Select the + button to open the application selection dialog.

The dialog displays the applications that can be assigned to the selected contract.

5. Select Applications

Select one or more applications that you want to assign to the contract.

The number of applications that can be assigned depends on the application's limit defined in the contract.

6. Assign the Applications

Select Assign to confirm the assignment.

The selected applications are now associated with the contract and can use the functionality provided by that contract.

The assignment workflow is the same for all supported contract types. The main difference is the functionality that becomes available after the contract is assigned.

Guidance Contract

Assign a Guidance contract when the application needs AppNavi Guidance functionality, such as routes, posts, announcements, pins, collections, and other Guidance features.

Example: Assign a Guidance contract to a ServiceNow application to enable Guidance content for that application.

Insights Contract

Assign an Insights contract when the application needs AppNavi Insights functionality, such as application usage analytics and Insights features.

Discovery Contract

Assign a Discovery contract when the application needs AppNavi Discovery functionality.

Example: Assign a Discovery contract to an application to enable application discovery and related Discovery capabilities.

Application Assignment Limit

The number of applications that can be assigned depends on the application limit defined in the contract.

If more than 25 applications need to be assigned, select and assign them in multiple batches. A maximum of 25 applications can be assigned in one operation.

For example:

• 40 applications required → assign 25 applications first.
• Assign the remaining 15 applications in a second operation.
