Tenant Types

AppNavi tenants are available in two types: Customer Tenant and Partner Tenant. The tenant type determines which features and capabilities are available to users.

Prerequisites

Before working with tenant types, make sure that:

User have access to the AppNavi Portal.
User have the required Tenant Owner or tenant administration permissions for tenant-level configuration.
User tenant has been created and is active.
User required modules and features are enabled for the tenant.

Note: Available features can also depend on the modules and licenses assigned to the tenant.

Customer vs. Partner Tenant

Customer Tenant

Customer tenants have access to the full suite of modules and core analytics and tools for their own environment. A Customer Tenant is intended for an organization using AppNavi for its own applications, users, content, analytics, and reporting.

Customer tenants can use the AppNavi modules and capabilities that are included in their assigned licenses.

Partner Tenant

A Partner Tenant provides the standard AppNavi capabilities available to a customer tenant, together with additional capabilities intended for partner demonstrations and testing.

Partner tenants can use the Import functionality to load demo data and explore Insights and Discovery analytics using sample data.

Note: Module availability is controlled by the tenant's assigned licenses. Partner tenant status does not automatically enable every AppNavi module.

Import Functionality

Only Partner Tenants have access to the Import feature within the Insights and Discovery areas of the portal.

The Import functionality allows partner users to load demo data into a tenant so they can demonstrate and explore AppNavi functionality without requiring production usage data.

For example:

Insights: Partner users can import demo data and view sample analytics and dashboards.
Discovery: Partner users can import demo data and explore discovered applications and related analytics.

Customer tenants do not have access to the Partner Tenant Import functionality.

Partner Tenant Responsibilities

Partner users are responsible for:

Using imported demo data for demonstration, testing, or evaluation purposes.
Managing tenant and workspace access according to assigned permissions.
Ensuring that demo data is used appropriately and does not replace actual customer data.
Verifying that the required modules are enabled before demonstrating related functionality.

Steps to Identify the Tenant Type

Sign in to the AppNavi Portal.
Open Manage Tenant.
Review the tenant configuration and available features.
Check whether the Import functionality is available under the relevant Insights or Discovery section.
If the Import functionality is available, the tenant is configured as a Partner Tenant.
