Overview

The Discovery Reports feature allows users to download detailed insights about application usage, departmental adoption, and compliance across their organization. Each report provides a unique perspective helping teams make data-driven decisions, identify risk areas, and monitor overall productivity.

How to download the reports

Navigate to the discovery page
Goto the app overview section
Click on the three dots button
List of options will appear
Choose one of the reports types.
Select the date range
1. 30 Days
2. 90 Days
3. All time
4. Custom date range
Discovery generates an Excel file containing aggregated metrics and user segmentation details.

Purpose

The purpose of these reports is to:

Give a complete visibility into how applications are used across departments, countries, and processes.
Help identify compliance risks, shadow IT usage, and PII data flow.

Available Reports

Process Coverage & IT Support Report

Purpose:

Shows how each business process and department uses approved applications, segmented by usage frequency.

Column	Description
Business Process	The operational process linked to each app (e.g., Procure to Pay, Lead to Cash).
Application	The discovered app in use.
Department	Different departments actively using the app.
Country	User’s location based on metadata.
Total Users	Total number of unique users during the selected period.
Power / Regular / Occasional Users	Segmentation showing user activity frequency.
Avg. Daily Usage/User	The average number of activity time each user spends per day.

How It Helps:

Highlights which applications are most used across business processes.
Helps IT teams plan support resources based on actual usage.
Shows adoption trends and identifies departments that need further enablement.

App Usage by Department/Process Report

Purpose:

Provides a department-wise view of application adoption and user activity across different business processes.

Column	Description
Department	The department using the app.
Application	The discovered app in use.
Country	User’s location based on metadata.
Business Process	The associated process category.
Total Users	Total number of unique users during the selected period.
Power / Regular / Occasional Users	Segmentation showing user activity frequency.
Avg. Daily Usage/User	The average number of activity time each user spends per day.

Shadow IT / Unplanned Usage Report

Purpose:

Identifies all unapproved or shadow applications being used across the organization — apps not part of the official IT catalog.

Column	Description
Application	The discovered app in use.
Department	The department using the app.
Contains Personal Data / Sensitive DataBusiness Process	Indicates potential data exposure.The associated process category.
Criticality / Data Residency / AI Tool Flag	Displays app risk level, hosting region, and whether it uses AI features.
Country	User’s location based on metadata.
Total Users	Total number of unique users during the selected period.
Power / Regular / Occasional Users	Segmentation showing user activity frequency.
Avg. Daily Usage/User	The average number of activity time each user spends per day.

Data Flow / Compliance Report

Purpose:

Provides a complete compliance overview by linking app usage with data sensitivity and classification details.

Business Process	Related business process.
Application	Application name.
Department	The department using the app.
Country	User’s location based on metadata.
Total Users	Total number of unique users.
Usage Segmentation	Power, Regular, and Occasional users.
Avg. Daily Usage/User (min)	Average daily engagement time.
Data Classification	The category of data handled (e.g., HR, Financial, Customer).
Contains PII?	Indicates if the app handles personal identifiable information.
Criticality	High / Medium / Low, showing impact on operations.

Risk & Usage Report

The Shadow Application Risk & Usage Report provides a complete overview of all applications that are being used without official IT approval. These unapproved or “shadow” apps introduce several operational, compliance, and data security risks across the organization. This report helps identify where, how often, and by whom these shadow applications are being used.

Purpose

The purpose of this report is to:

Give transparency into Shadow IT usage across departments and countries.
Highlight applications that may introduce data exposure or security vulnerabilities.
Support IT governance teams in risk assessment, audit preparation, and remediation planning.

Column	Description
Application Name	Name of the shadow app being used.
Department	Department of users (IdP claim or fallback metadata).
Country	Location of users based on metadata.
Total Users	Number of unique users from this department/country using the app.
Avg. Daily Usage/User (min)	Average daily minutes spent by each user.
Contains Personal Data	Indicates whether the app processes PII.
Contains Sensitive Data	Shows if sensitive data is involved.
Criticality	High/Medium/Low — manually assigned in the app catalog.
Data Residency	Where the app stores its data (EU, US, Global).
AI Productivity Tool	Whether the app is marked as an AI-powered tool.

AI Innovation Adoption Report

The AI Innovation Adoption Report measures the organization’s adoption of AI-powered applications. It reveals which departments and countries are leading in AI tool usage offering a clear view of innovation maturity across the company.

Purpose

The report is designed to:

Benchmark AI adoption across different regions and departments.
Identify teams that are embracing innovation and those needing enablement.
Support leadership in planning AI investments, enablement programs, and digital transformation initiatives.

AI Apps Used	Number of AI-flagged applications used in that department/country.
AI Users	Number of unique users who used at least one AI tool.
AI Adoption Rate	Percentage of users who used AI apps.
Power / Regular / Occasional Users	Segmentation showing user activity frequency.
Avg. Daily Usage/User (min)	Average daily minutes spent by each user.
