Overview

This feature introduces new fields for discovered applications, enabling improved transparency, compliance tracking, and innovation monitoring across the application inventory.

Purpose

The feature exists to:

• Track compliance-related attributes such as data residency, personal data, and sensitive information.
• Capture innovation-related attributes, such as AI productivity tools.
• Provide visibility and filterability of these attributes in the Discovered Apps Table.
• Ensure clear inheritance and override logic for data coming from the app catalog.

These fields enhance operational transparency, support regulatory compliance, and improve insights for application management.

Fields and Attributes

1. Criticality/Impact
   1. Type: Single-select
   2. Value Options: High, Medium, Low
   3. Editable: Only in the discovered application’s detail view
   4. Display: appear in the Discovered Apps Table
2. Data Location / Residency
   1. Type: Single-select
   2. Editable: Only in the discovered application’s detail view
   3. Suggested Value Options:
      1. Germany
      2. EU (excluding Germany)
      3. EEA (non-EU Europe)
      4. United Kingdom
      5. United States
      6. Multi-region / Global
      7. Other
      8. Unknown
3. Contains Sensitive Data / PII
   1. Type: Boolean (Yes/No)
   2. Editable: Both in the app catalog and the discovered application’s detail view
   3. Inheritance Logic: Value inherited from app catalog unless manually changed in the discovered app
   4. Display: appear in the Discovered Apps Table

Steps to Use Compliance and Innovation Fields

Configure Fields in Discovered Application Detail View

1. Open the Discovered Apps Table.
2. Select a discovered application to open its Detail View.
3. Locate the Compliance and Innovation Fields section.
4. Edit fields as needed:
   1. Criticality/Impact: Choose High, Medium, or Low.
   2. Data Location / Residency: Select the appropriate location.
   3. Contains Personal Data? Toggle Yes/No.
   4. Contains Sensitive Data / PII? Toggle Yes/No.
   5. AI Productivity Tool: Toggle Yes/No.
